If you need medical attention outside of normal surgery hours please contact NHS 111 by telephoning 111. Patients who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired can use a textphone to access the NHS 111 service.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Paulton Hospital have a Minor Injury Clinic which is usually open between 8 am and 7pm.
The Minor Injuries Unit treats:
- Sprains and strains
- Cuts and grazes
- Arm, lower leg and foot injuries
- Bites – human, animal
- Minor burns and scalds
- Minor head injuries
- Broken noses and nosebleeds
- Eye problems such as scratches, foreign bodies in the eyes
They are unable to treat the following:
- Abdominal pain
- Alcohol-related problems
- Breathing problems
- Chest pain
- Drug overdose
- Health conditions usually treated by a GP
- Mental health problems
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
