GP referrals
Sometimes our clinicians will refer patients to another service. The GP or nurse will send a letter to the specialist or service. The letter will give essential background information, such as your medical history, and it’ll also contain details that the specialist needs to pay particular attention to.
Sometimes services require additional information, such as a recent height and weight, before they will accept the referral. We will contact you if we need any information.
Referrals are managed by our secretarial and administrative team.
If you have been referred and have not heard anything after 4 weeks please contact the surgery secretary on bswicb.secretaries.hillcrest@nhs.net or telephone the surgery and select option for secretaries.
